The Cavaliers signed forward Jeff Green to a 1-year, $2.3 million minimum deal on Friday evening, strengthening a bench that came under major scrutiny after a lackluster NBA Finals performance. Green struggled last season for the Orlando Magic, looking unmotivated at times while playing for a losing team, and concerns over his attitude and play enabled Cleveland to sign him for such a cheap contract.

Though the forward was not at his best for Orlando, the deal offers little risk and high reward. Green is only 30 years old, even though it seems like he has been around the league forever, and is just three years removed from being a major piece for the Boston Celtics.

Green is a versatile playerâ??he does not excel at any one part of the game in particular, but is capable in almost everything. He can handle the ball, play inside or outside offensively, and can guard multiple positions thanks to his length and speed.
