After beginning the season with double-digit home wins over the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns, the Orlando Magic will embark on their first road trip of the campaign when they travel to face the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Tuesday and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Wednesday.
The Bulls (2-1) are coming off their first loss of the season against the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday, but they have five players averaging double figures in points: Joakim Noah (14.7 PPG), Richard Hamilton (14.0 PPG), Carlos Boozer (13.7 PPG), Luol Deng (13.3 PPG), and Nate Robinson (12.7 PPG).
As for the Timberwolves (1-1), prior to hosting the Magic on Wednesday, they will do battle with the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. Through two games, Minnesota has three players averaging at least 12 PPG. Jose Barea leads the team at 15.0 PPG, while Andrei Kirilenko is averaging 13.5 PPG and Nikola Pekovic is scoring 12.0 PPG.
Orlando (2-0) will take its high-scoring, balanced offense on the road. Glen Davis (25.5 PPG) and J.J. Redick (22.5 PPG) are scoring over 20 PPG, while Arron Afflalo (14.5 PPG), E’Twaun Moore (14.0 PPG), and Nikola Vucevic (12.0 PPG) are averaging 12-plus PPG.
“I haven’t hung one clipping up, one quote from a writer from any sort of publication and I won’t be doing it,” Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn explained. “We work every day, we’re professionals, this is our job and with hard work comes a chance for success.”
Both games will start at 8:00 pm on FS Florida.
